Colors of Cultures

Cultures of the world offer us so many different ideas when looking at color mixing.  Blended colors are often unconventionally but brilliant. Simple but conversational.  To find an interesting look for your next event or wedding try looking at the cultural clothing of Asia, Africa and South America including the festivals of the Caribbean, who's colors are bold and dramatic.

This year bright, bold colors especially yellows, pinks, reds and oranges made a big comeback from the 1980's.  Cultural dress or colors are often admired by designers. It challenges them to find a creative idea to bring all the vibrant colors into a trend.

Choose your focal color and play with many ideas; do not be afraid.  Actually there is no such thing as "mix match" colors.  As you can see from the photos, colors always find a way to incorporate each other.  It is the design of the idea that affects how color is presented.

Choosing 3-5 different colors (one being your main attraction) would be your best bet when color designing your idea.

Remember who your guests are, attire and purpose of the event.  Although colors are forgiving it would be a grave disappointment if brilliant pinks were the focal decoration at a corporate meeting.

While admiring the various cultures take time out to learn about some of their customs and foods.  This to can also help with your event to make it memorable.

Culture, color, food and design?? Sounds like a success to me.

Embrace color and let differences be as beautiful as your next event.
