Domincan Republic or The Florida Keys

In our quest to find the perfect site to build our venture 'Marjorreta's Villa of Eloquence' we are torn between The Florida Keys and the Dominican Republic.

One offers culture and mystery the other history and celebration.

Dominican Republic is the second largest Caribbean nation stretching 48,442 square kilometers.  Located in the Greater Antilles, this island offers a vast variety of foods, music, scenery and entertainment.

Inspiring ideas came easily as I sat on one of the beaches of the Dominican Republic.  It was here that the idea for this venture arose.  The opportunity to do what I love most and to live in a place that I admire for culture, grace, history and celebration was inviting and to say the least alluring.  Take a look at the pictures that were taken back to the Team.  An innovative idea was formed to incorporate hosting and play.  The Team embraced the challenge.

Every part of the Dominican Republic is picture perfect!

As the idea grew some of the Team suggested that I take a visit to The Florida Keys.  It was their belief that The Florida Keys offered all the Dominican had and more.  I needed to be convinced.

The Florida Keys arc shaped islands begins at the southeastern tip of the Florida peninsula. Key West is the southern island only 90 miles from Cuba. On one side the Gulf of Mexico, the other the Atlantic Ocean.

I was up for the adventure so a 15 miles drive from Miami seeing all The Keys on the way to our final destination Key West was paramount.

Stopping at Hollywood Beach offered a preview of our dream

As we entered each Key I realized I now was challenged in deciding the location of 'Marjorreta's Villa of Eloquence'.  It was not easy to ignore all of the culture, mystery, excitement and scenery.

So here we are comparing each value so that we can deliver the best of the best for you.  Continue to follow us on Twitter as we build our venture delivering the perfect getaway location.

Colors of Cultures

Cultures of the world offer us so many different ideas when looking at color mixing.  Blended colors are often unconventionally but brilliant. Simple but conversational.  To find an interesting look for your next event or wedding try looking at the cultural clothing of Asia, Africa and South America including the festivals of the Caribbean, who's colors are bold and dramatic.

This year bright, bold colors especially yellows, pinks, reds and oranges made a big comeback from the 1980's.  Cultural dress or colors are often admired by designers. It challenges them to find a creative idea to bring all the vibrant colors into a trend.

Choose your focal color and play with many ideas; do not be afraid.  Actually there is no such thing as "mix match" colors.  As you can see from the photos, colors always find a way to incorporate each other.  It is the design of the idea that affects how color is presented.

Choosing 3-5 different colors (one being your main attraction) would be your best bet when color designing your idea.

Remember who your guests are, attire and purpose of the event.  Although colors are forgiving it would be a grave disappointment if brilliant pinks were the focal decoration at a corporate meeting.

While admiring the various cultures take time out to learn about some of their customs and foods.  This to can also help with your event to make it memorable.

Culture, color, food and design?? Sounds like a success to me.

Embrace color and let differences be as beautiful as your next event.

More Money Talk - Tip Savers

Okay Ladies,

You've done your budget and a makeup artist is not on your list but you still want that glam look? Well the best way to get a professional glam look for free is to go into a M.A.C store the morning of the wedding make it a part of you r agenda for that day. Now you got your glam look, and best all it's FREE!!!

This next tip requires a little research so make sure you do this months in advance. If it's fresh flowers you want, then it's fresh flowers you will get. Approach flower shops in your area and ask them to borrow their flowers for your wedding (this is more welcoming especially when the flowers are a surplus) or ask them to donate the flowers . These flowers are usually on their way out and will probably last 1-2 days and the last time I checked, a wedding doesn't 't last that long. Give the store your wedding date and have pick up or delivery, arrange for the morning of the wedding. You would be surprise some stores would even lend you there best flowers because of the low sales.

So turn that charm on and get the look of you wedding day dreams with FRESH FLOWERS!.

The "Unseen" Thought - A Mere Observation

The ability to believe takes an amazing power of will that many choose to ignore or fail to recognize. The "Unseen" Thought is the whisper that comes to us in a moment of silence when we question ourselves. The answer is always known but our reaction to the answer, is mainly to ignore. Some of us have been trained to listen to the "Unseen" Thought but the majority of us rarely like the truths of its whisper.
Knowing that we mainly use 10% of brain matter (yes I know it changes and we sometimes use all) , it is amazing that we question it, when information flows out that is too real for us to digest. If more of us would listen to the "Unseen" Thought many lessons that are given would not have to be continuously learned.

It's easy to ignore a whisper and "painful" to embrace external noises which is our voices.

Listen carefully and choose wisely.

Passion and the Tropics!

Now I know from the title your mind ventured as to where I would be taking you in this post.  Well the passion that I speak of is the drive that lives in you.  Today I played with many ideas and looked at the pros and cons of The Keys and of D.R.  As I was doing so, I felt a smile coming on.  Years of ups and downs and ins and outs led me to this moment and I was proud.  So often we forget to celebrate each accomplishment and to enjoy each moment of success and happiness.  Always remember your level of success and happiness is only of your judgement and not of ours.  No one has the right to determine what is successful and what is accomplishment to you.  Your innerself can only determine that.  Tonight I sit here knowing that this will be a long road I have chosen to travel but I am smiling and laughter fills my breath.

As an Event Specialist the best part of my passion is meeting all types of people and their characters.  That amazing feeling and reward of interaction led me to the idea of a events villa getaway in a tropical location.  I have visited a few islands and places of choice however it only took one trip to The Keys and one trip to D.R to know that one would win my vote and will be the home of my fulfillment.

The Keys offers a variety of culture, nightlife, beaches, relaxation and peace but D.R in addition offers creativity.  The ability to combine all of these into one location is one of my challenges.  I am unable to choose from these gorgeous locations.  Each view in The Keys is as breathtaking as D.R.

Tomorrow I will let $$$$$ into the decision factor.  Here we go!!!
